Established in 1964, ABP has become the go-to garage for generations of drivers from Shavington, Crewe, Nantwich, Cheshire and beyond. Whether you’re looking for an MOT or service for your family car, performance upgrades, wheel alignment or more specialised work on a high-performance or classic vehicle, we do it all, and we do it well.

The business was originally set up by John Parton and catered for the popular road-rallying scene in the 1960s & ’70s in which John himself successfully competed. Experience gained through both rallying and circuit racing allowed ABP to become a recognised name to owners of hot hatches, sports saloons and sports cars. ABP became official distributors for many leading tuning brands and to this day we still offer extensive tuning & modification work alongside regular MOT, Servicing and repairs.

In 1989 Chris Meredith joined the ABP team, Chris worked his way up through the business and went on to take over at the helm from John when he retired in 2009. Chris and his excellent team (or the ABP family as he refers to them) have worked hard over the years and this has paid off with an unbeatable reputation in the area for quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

In April 2023 Chris exited the business, selling ABP to a team of five existing staff members who between them have 106 years’ combined experience employed in the ABP family. Kieran Sawford has taken over the Managing Director role with direct support from Dave Roberts & Rich Broughton who many of you will know from the shop. Senior technician Steve Mountford becomes Workshop Director and long-serving office-based Suzie Wilcox becomes Finance Director. This ownership change has secured an exciting future for ABP with the experienced team guaranteeing continuity.

We’ve invested heavily in our purpose-built workshop in Shavington, Crewe, and in training the team to keep up with industry developments. Today we are proud to be able to offer a real alternative to the main dealers – offering better prices, much more friendly service and the unique ABP personal touch to all our loyal customers.

The workshop is state-of-the-art and as well as 5 service bays and a dedicated MOT bay, we have a full Hunter 4 Wheel Alignment suite which attracts customers from all across the UK. We are all petrol-heads, all keen motorsport fans and a number of the team are track-day enthusiasts so we can offer you unrivalled knowledge and experience in Performance Upgrades and track-day Preparation.

You can find us in Shavington, Crewe, just off the A500, so really easy to get to from Nantwich, Wybunbury and other towns and villages in our corner of Cheshire. For those travelling further we are just 10 minutes from Junction 16 of the M6. We have extensive parking available and a comfortable customer waiting area with Wi-Fi and refreshments.
